Coolios. I dedicate my Sunday to Taiwan :) I'm supposed to be studying but heck, I shall entertain muggers instead.
on the plane, I sleep a bit, snack a bit, play ds a bit and go to the loo a lot. yea, that's what I did during the 4 hours on board.
sun blazing over the ocean during sunset is a beautiful sight to catch :D
tada! my long lost Taiwan... It's a kind of ' I'm back home' feeling although this is only my second time there but the feeling is indescribable
reached Ximending around 8 and went for dinner at 大玉門 that initially we had trouble finding that place. but worth the walk for marvellous food served. Steamboat cum Japanese style BBQ (:

& we're gonna take the high speed rail (similar to bullet train) to Kaohsiung which will take around 2 hours
With comfy seats & air-conditioned.

& we reached our hotel. the 3 of us was impressed by the hotel cause it's so nice, classy & comfy! :D View of Kaohsiung taken from our room.
So we went to the nearby Anning Street to dig for goodies, but apparently the sun is scorching hot and the place is f* boring. & it got me worried initially. "oh no, where's my love for shopping. don't tell me shopping no longer interest me when I'm in Taiwan already"
擔仔面 - the noodle is QQ & taste superb
臭豆腐 - not to my liking. smelly like shit.
貢丸 - in case you're mistaken that I only took picture of 1, you're wrong. cause it comes in 1, pathetically laying in the bowl that wen & trish were so amazed by it.
after that we went to eat 婆婆冰. & I ordered japalang ice. got everything but I don't know what. nevertheless, it was nice
on the way back to our hotel, waiting for the traffic light, I suggested not to cross the road first and find something to munch. so we walked away & there's this guy who was waiting for the traffic light initially, followed us. guess what he tried to ask?
oh see! their watson comes with nice paper bags :D unlike the ugly green plastic bag we get in Singapore.

& I shall end this day with something I got for Bimbo. Heh, lollipop.
mm, not really a lollipop
HAHA. Digress, I gave this to the watermelon Bimbo and told him it's a lollipop & "can it really be eaten?" came out from his mouth. Omg, I was laughing damn hard. I'm so lazzzzzzy to write now. Continue later.
wenhui says: (11:37:36 PM)see listen, this kind of alarm makes me wanna sleep moreeeee cause it's such a nice & relaxing tune.
while Taipei metro uses card to tap tap, Kaohsiung metro uses chip - just like our standard ticket. & we were kinda lucky cause metro service in Kaohsiung just started in less than a month ago. To purchase a standard ticket chip, we need to use the automated machine (just like smrt in Singapore) and to our surprise, the Kaohsiung people don't know how to use it at all and we're like gurus who've used it for life already when it's in fact our first time there.
So we went 新掘江 for more shopping in the noon, and on the train we kept learning how to speak the name of each station in 台語. haha!

Had some Mister Donut before shopping. & I simply love Taiwan cause they have all kinds of Donuts in a varieties of flavours ♥
the chocolate one is called 波地 or something and it's super chewy and QQ. Trish & I love this to loads.
Hoho & I finally get to try this - 洋竽片 after I saw it on bang bang tang some time back. Looks really yummy isn't it.
But the sad thing is, it is not that nice afterall.
Approaching evening, we took a shuttle bus to Dream Mall for the Sanrio theme ferris wheel. (the night falls especially early, like 6pm?)
& we took the ride two times. Once in a Hello Kitty Cabin & once in the transparent Cabin. Up in the air, there's a sweet melody and nice cushion to accompany you

This is the transparent cabin! You can see through everything :D
& thus I present the night view of Kaohsiung to you :)
It was drizzling when we had enough of our fun. From a slight drizzle it became a heavy rainpour eventually. We went to Ruifeng Night Market for dinner & tell you, the food& things there was fabulous.
Grilled chicken chop plus ham plus egg plus pasta on a hotplate with savory sauce ...
& check out the pricing for that. it's even cooler. NT 100 = Less than $5. Tell me where to get such a deal in Singapore?
& I'll end this day with my purchases in Kaohsiung (not everything is included though. Just 2 days and my luggage is gonna weigh tons heavier)
morning noon, we dragged our luggage and took the conventional train to Taichung.
Traveling was a bit of a problem in Taichung as they do not have any metro service yet. Took a cab to 一中街 after settling down in the hotel and head to the toilet theme restaurant.

this is my big big bowl of ice, was really huge
wen & trish shared this
& they stopped here
I didn't stopped here ...
.
how can you not possibly swallow one mochi when you're in taiwan? (:
& this is taichung 土產 (from what Trish said) - cheesecake. damn cheesy and good for breakfast every morning :D
from SOGO, we took a cab to 逢甲 and being very tired, I felt asleep in the cab. When we reached, the cab uncle told us to alight at, the middle of the road?! I was sitting near the door and still in a sleepy mode, I opened the door and TA! hit a motorbike and spoilt the mirror. So you expect the poor guy to come up to me and scold @#%^@%# but NO. There's this cab driver at the side of the road came and scream at us instead. He complained that we knock the motorbike & it knock his cab. But there was no scratches to be seen! So you know his motive - money. & we gave him NT 500 to make peace. Luckily it's only NT500 = $ 25, else I don't mind going to the police station to him and we'll see who will win. He will then need to compensate for wasting my time and terrifying me :(
our supper for the night :D
Back in Taipei. The weather is coolios, unlike in Kaohsiung. Machiam like free air-con. & Again we took pictures on our favourite bridge.

Had lunch at our favourite Korean restaurant (辣炒年糕 & 皮蛋豆腐) and shopped in the Taipei Metro underground mall before heading to K at Party World. Tell you, their party world is so cool. The whole building belongs to party world and it's just like a hotel! Plus it's so so cheap for the great service and room. The room is totally enclosed without any see through door, so you get the privacy you want and scream all you wantttt. It's spacious and there's even a private toilet in each room. How cool is that?
Even their fruits are craved and placed in such an artistic manner.
what's more, you get graded after you completed singing a song. although we noticed it's because the louder you see the higher you get. but still, isn't it cool?
the only sad thing is that we were under 18 then and had to leave by 12am.
on the mrt
see! that's the real poster with their signature ♥
can you sense our excitement when we (me & wen) see all these
had yoghurt icecream served in 牛角 cone. It's quite famous I think but not to my liking.
oh, I totally heart 101. Great for photography!

and this is the scene we get when we're up there. looks like some model hur?

it's damn cold and windy on the 91 floor!

so we scurried back indoor to take more pics :D

& we spotted merlion there! trish and I got excited by it
wanna know how wind sounds like? then you'll know how strong the wind is up on 91 floor
and the elevator is super fast! takes around 40 seconds to reach the 1st level from 90th level?

wen's ...
trish's ...
mine ...
pretty yet cheap. and it's kinda nice too. comes with a complimentary hello kitty jelly.
even the toilet is so nice ...

15th April 2008 (Taipei)
20 cm ice cream? & costs only NT 20, which is less than a dollar
but half of it landed in the bin cause yours truly is not a huge fan of ice cream
this is one of my fav - 炸金針菇
and we took a boat to fisherman wharf, opposite of dan shui.

took the hotspring for the first time. damn shiok! & yea, that's trish testing the temperature. i think they uses sulphuric water. & our skin feels soft and supple after the dip.
went to shilin night market for some delights :D

this is recommended! green papaya with passionfruit sauce.
the not-to-be-missed 胡椒餅. and then I realised it's the same one which my dad likes. I'm gonna eat them again when I return to Perak.
we slack a bit in the hotel and went to carrefour to buy junk food. see how cheap their hi-chew is. less than $2 for 5 bars, when $2 can only get you 2 bars in Singapore. I love taiwan~
hehe, our loot. that's not the end cause we've got more not seen in this pic.
We camwhored on the bridge again then this little man, short and small, wearing oversized business suit, came up to us and said ...
5:11 PM
